The Verb TO BE

The verb "BOD" (to be) is very irregular. Regional variations are shown in brackets.

The present tense

English Welsh
I am Dw i (Rydw i / Wi / Rwyf i)
You are (singular & informal) Wyt ti (Rwyt ti / 'ti)
He is Mae e (Mae o)
She is Mae hi
We are Dyn ni (Dan ni / Rydyn ni / Yn ni)
You are (plural or formal) Dych chi (Dach chi / Rydych chi / Ych chi)
They are Maen nhw
